We all know how important it is to shop & eat locally, so here at the Tea Rooms we make sure we’re keeping our food miles low and giving vital support to the North East Wales food economy.
So much so, this is our Rhubarb Pie journey from our gardens, to the kitchen and finally to your plate! We started noticing the social media world implode with the gorgeous deep magenta stalks of rhubarb!!! We’ve been toying with making a pie, and having freshly grown Rhubarb in our gardens, it was a no brainer . Rhubarb by itself is very tangy, which works wonderfully for many compotes and jams, but for pie we had to compliment it with something sweet. We have some delicious Vanilla Ice-Cream so why not give it a try? We’re so glad we did. We had Strawberry in the Pie also which goes so well with the recipe. Best decision ever. The shortcrust lattice but gentle characteristic of the pastry compliments the strawberry and tangy rhubarb well, and we are excited to share this with you.
Here at the Tea Rooms we endeavour to explore what it means to eat local in the Flintshire area. We offer a diversity of produce from local farms, markets, suppliers and shops.
