First Baking Masterclass a Huge Success

'Perfect for beginners and those who have baked before'

Our very first Baking Masterclass was held on Thursday 31st January 2019 and was a huge success. The event sold out quickly. We knew it was a good idea given the level of interest from customers who enjoy our cakes and bakes but we didn’t realise quite how popular it would prove to be!

The classes are open to anybody who wants to take part whether they have been baking for years or have never baked before.

To make the event happen, the team at the Tea Rooms worked very hard organising everything behind the scenes. The class was taught by our expert Pastry Chef, Darren Dorling  so we knew we were in safe hands.

In the days prior to the evening, the snow had fallen and cast a very cold cloud over the Tea Rooms but this did not stop our 15 keen bakers from turning up to test out their baking skills. From the word go, everything went to plan and with Darren’s knowledge in baking and the overwhelming enthusiasm within the room,  the whole evening went very well indeed.

Everybody who attended got stuck in with the baking. As a result, everyone was able to take home their bakes – a classic Victoria Sandwich cake and some Afternoon Tea Buttermilk scones.

The feedback from the Masterclass was overwhelming with all attendees wanting to book onto the next one. Unfortunately, the February class had already sold out!
